# Expeditions

You can run expeditions to earn more XP and Shards.

## Regions, Unlocking, and Cooldown

Choose a region to launch an expedition. Some regions will be locked until you reach a certain Warlord rank. You can only embark on one expedition at a time. Each stage requires energy, which regenerates at a rate of 30 per hour.

After completion, the region will become unavailable for a cooldown period. If you successfully complete a region, its level increases, along with its difficulty and reward size.

***

## Stages, Complexity, and Risk-Taking

The expedition consists of multiple stages, each granting a reward based on the probability table. However, if you lose one of the stages, you will end the expedition, losing all the accumulated rewards.

The difficulty of each stage depends on the power of the region’s inhabitants you may encounter in battle, as well as your stealth, which determines the chance to pass the stage without a fight.

The success chance is displayed in the expedition panel, where you can assess the likelihood of avoiding combat and the risk of facing enemies.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://infinity-worlds.gitbook.io/platform/expeditions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
